Pravini Baboeram
Pravini Baboeram is a community organizer, decolonial thinker and creative producer. She is the co-founder of 7th Gen Creatives, a production house for social creative concepts. The main purpose of Pravini’s community work is to serve social struggle and liberation of colonized communities. Pravini was the driving force behind Tetary Must Rise, a crowdfunding campaign to replace the statue of colonizer Barnet Lyon with the Hindustani resistance fighter Janey Tetary in Suriname. She’s also the initiator of Indian History Month by Sarnámihuis that celebrates historical contributions of people from the Indian diaspora. Pravini also wrote, produced and directed the music documentary “The Uprising”, a film about the anti-racism and decolonial movement in Europe.
